Word of Encouragement.....Be inspired

I got this very inspiring note from a "cousin" of mine, I call him a cousin because he is too close to me, he is a superb young man, with an excellent personality. Do read and get inspired too...

In bed, I was asking myself; "what are some of the secrets to success in life?" I found the answer right there in my very room. The fan said,"be cool", the roof said, "aim high", the window said, "see the world" ,the clock said, "every minute is precious", the mirror said, "reflect before you act". The calendar said, "be up to date". The door said, "push hard for your goals". The Rug said "kneel down and pray".The toilet said "flush the Bad habits that will deter u from becoming someone influential in life! The Bible laughed and said, "read me for direction".

Have a blessed weekend....

Today is another special day, We are finally rolling into the third of this quite interesting program, #31days31epistles. Next is a young, bold and beautiful young medical laboratory scientist (in-view), who is dedicated to her work and is ready to be a great wife and mother, she said she is engaged, so guys "abeg free her for her guy o", *smiles*... I meet her in 2010/2011 when I was the president of my department's students' association, she is a wonderful personality, with a great smile (when Adeola is laughing, you just can't help it but join her in the laughter) and she was also in my choir back then in Living spring chapel, Babcock University. Okay I give you, Miss Adeola

This year 2014 has been great for me and more tasking as a student, *winks*. One important and funny thing is that I have come to know from the past months of this year is that no matter how you live life, its actually nobody business, the fact is you are mostly responsible for your actions.

Heart breaking......Africa is out....

After a mind bowing encounter between Germany and Algeria, Germany knocked out the hopes of africans via this 2014 world up in Brazil by beating Algeria 2 goals, hope would have been restored when Algeria scored their only goal but time was against them.

Germany will face France in the quarter finals encounter in Brazil, you really do ot want to miss out in the obvious tenacity of that match. Africa came close but its rather poignant that we are out, though hopeful that world cup 2016 will bring us better luck.

Goals scored during the Germany vs Algeria encounter were from Andre Schuerrle and Mesut Oezil for Germany and Abdelmoum for Algeria. This world cup now between the Europes and the Americans, one will wonder who wll lift up the 2014 world cup, France/Brazil/Germany/Netherlands or winners of the remaining part of the round of sixteen. Let's see as the World cup unfolds.....

France crushes Nigeria out of the worrld cup in Brazil

Its no news that the super eagles of Nigeria had their world cup hopes trashed by France, the 1998 world cup champions. Prior to the match, several Nigerian fans had hoped that the super eagles will scale through to the quarter finals, but I am sure that by now that vision has turned into a nightmare as most of Nigerian fans are not happy with the results.

France stole the victory after a free header from Pogba stabbed the super eagles on her right eye causing a confusion and lack of concentration which led to the own goal rom Yobo. Nigeria is out from the 2014 world cup in Brazil as France advances to the quarter finals.

From us here on GTB, we feel that the super eagles played their best ad did the nation proud. We shall improve in 2016, hopefully.....

What do you think about today's match......

Life series... Season 2..Life as likened to respiration

Last time on life series, we had a long discussion on how life is linked with movement, I am sure you all enjoyed the inspiring messages from that post. This week, we shall be looking at life as linked or likened with respiration. I will try to keep this post as short as possible.

Firstly, respiration to a layman is breathing in and out or inhaling and exhaling, to a more learned man, it is the taking in of Oxygen (Inhaling) into the body and the removal of Carbon dioxide (Exhaling) from the body into the environment. The truth is that the both of them did very fine, but a bit in-depth study (cellular respiration) informs us that respiration also involves the breakdown of glucose (simple sugar or food molecules) involving Oxygen and water to produce energy (ATP), water and the release of carbon dioxide at the cellular level or cells of every living thing, hence, if you do not take in oxygen, you won’t be able to produce the needed energy for you to move on with your daily activities. Also during blood circulation, oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood move via the heart enabling the proper function of the body, in layman sense, oxygenated blood leaves the heart to the body, and after usage it returns to the heart as deoxygenated blood, hence the circulation continues again. In essence, respiration in living things is very crucial to their survival.

Ikemba and the Cripple....Chapter 3

The sudden appearance of human-like figures in the middle of the river caused a big panic and scattered screams as villagers who had gone to the river to either fetch water or wash their unclean clothes ran for their dare lives. Sensing this, Ojinta called out to them as they ran even further, probably thinking he was a ghost and wanted to kill them. It took the bravery of Oma, one of Ojinta’s daughters to calm the people down as she called out to them saying “this is my father, this is my father, papa, papa, papa, welcome back”, as she ran very excited towards her father. Meanwhile, the three warriors who survived the rescue mission, the Princess and Amara, the lady who they had rescued from being raped, were very surprised to see that they have returned safely to Lorji, infact they gazed at Ojinta strangely, because they never knew he had such powers, unknown to them that Ojinta had collected the charm from the priest they visited before embarking on the rescue mission to Ikanga village. One after the other, the shocked villagers regained their confidence and moved towards the river to observe what would happen when Oma hugs her father, seeing that all went well, they all moved towards Ojinta and his team, touching them and most importantly greeting the princess before they burst into songs of victory.

Joke of the day...The dentist

A dentist noticed that his next patient, an elderly lady, was looking very nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.

“Do you know how they make these gloves?” he asked. “No, I don’t” she replied.

Well,” he spoofed, “there’s a building in China with a big tank of latex and workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size.”

Why the IQ test does not measure intelligence..

I kinda agree with this write up.......Well composed..

"The scale, properly speaking, does not permit the measure of intelligence, because intellectual qualities are not superposable, and therefore cannot be measured as linear surfaces are measured."

— Alfred Binet (Creator of the IQ Tests), 1905

For many, many years now, psychologists and other IQ supporters have been taking IQ tests, distributing IQ tests, and comparing their IQ scores with their peers, thinking that it meant that they were smarter than others. But that's wrong. The IQ test does not measure intelligence, it is a socially constructed concept that attempted a method of measuring intelligence.

Animal life-Crazy ways animals reproduce and have sex...

I found this very interesting animal life discovery on some weird and crazy ways animals reproduce, its kinda hilarious but very educative. How the heck do other animals reproduce? This is something most people do not know about, they may have a deep, hidden interest on how some animals mate with each other, but never bother to get their questions answered. Whether they think other people will think they are stupid, or they are just too embarrassed to ask, they usually never find out. How and why do birds lay eggs? Seriously, do they have sex at all? How about bees? Fish? Snails? If you find yourself asking these questions, the answers are all right here on this page!

Birds - If you have ever wondered, or are still wondering about how birds mate, yes they do have sex, and yes there actually are male and female birds. Instead of the human body parts, you know, the birds of both genders have a small sexual reproductive organ called a cloaca. Cloacas are the small holes on the back of birds, you might see them as their butt. Not only do they have sex with these holes, they also pee and poop from them as well.
