Treatment Considerations for the Truvada drug...

Every drug has its side effects, these are possible questions that could arise from taking this medication to cure or prevent HIV.

Select Questions for Your Doctor
If you are currently on HIV meds, you may want to discuss these questions with your healthcare provider:
  • How many times a week do you find it difficult to take your HIV meds?
  • How many times a day do you need to take each of your HIV meds?
  • Is there a particular time of day that's more difficult to take your HIV meds?
  • Do food restrictions interfere with taking your HIV meds on time?
  • Are there any side effects that you experience on your current HIV meds?
Talk to your doctor if you are looking for an HIV med that:
  • Can be taken once a day as part of a complete regimen
  • Can help lower your viral load and help get you to undetectable (<400 copies/mL)
