Finally, Ojinta came out, a hunter at its best, handsome and well built; he greeted the king, chief priest, chiefs and the villagers, danced a little as the band played some body moving sounds, after a while, the whole arena was silence, as Ojinta raised his voice, I choose the Princess, he turned towards the King and his chiefs and repeated himself, the entire community were amazed, some were confused too, because they wondered why Ojinta will choose the Princess as against other cool stuffs, but the chief priest was not shocked as he stood up and started dancing to the spirits, it was like he was excited about Ojinta’s choice, but the King was shocked, he could not believe his ears. Amidst the confusion, the Chief priest spoke, he said, this great man, Ojinta, has showed his epic wisdom, and has made history today, may generations to come ever speak about his choice today as the best ever made in history, he has created a new path, a new hope for the future of the children of Lorji community. Ojinta who had more wives than the crow of an adult cock in a day, took a long look at the princess as he smiled, she responded to his smile, though a bit shy.

The King stood up to speak; mind you if he should not approve of Ojinta’s choice, it means that he didn’t keep his words, and he may lose his kingdom, as it is believed that the King honors his words more than his name; the king said, I Eze Ochendu II of Lorji community, hereby; there was a sudden silence, so silent that one could hear the footsteps of a soldier ant; the King smiled and turned towards his wife, who looked a bit sad but had no other choice than to put a small smile just to encourage her husband, he also took a few seconds look at his daughter, then he continues; I hereby give my daughter to Ojinta as he requested, to be his wife, hereby making Ojinta a member of the royal cabinet as the second in command, Ojinta shall be my right hand man, the King said further as he takes his seat. The entire community went to a spontaneous outbreak of joy, as they jumped, danced and sang to the good news they had just heard, the celebration continued to dusk, and a date was fixed for the marriage rituals to take place. One after the other, the villagers went to their different homes, the celebrations for the day had ended, yet the people kept talking about all that had transpired at the King’s palace earlier, Ojinta’s wise choice topped the gossip chart board.

Weeks later, Ojinta and Princess Abuoma had concluded their marital rites, the gigantic celebration brought several special guests from neighboring villages, Ojinta received pieces of land here and there, cattle, goats, yams, silver, gold, and several other gifts, making him very rich and famous too. Excited Ojinta carried his wife home, placed her on the locally made comfy bed and they had a sensational romantic affair. Princess Abuoma was a virgin, so it made the coital interaction very special, so special that Ojinta went for rounds without getting tired, at the first crow of the day, the newlyweds slept rather excited and tired. That night was the best night for them, and would turn out to be even exciting as Princess Abuoma got pregnant from the events that took place that night.

The cordial relationship between the wives of Ojinta grew stronger, maybe because they felt that they were now royal personalities in the village. After, nine months of pregnancy, Abuoma was due to deliver, and when she did it was, oh my, oh my, it was a bouncing baby boy exclaimed Ojinta as he ran around shouting, singing and dancing. Out of excitement he named the child, his only son, IKEMBA.

(Don't miss out, continue to follow the story, this is the beginning of the end.........)
