Good News- ASUP calls off 10 months old strike

Wow, 10 months?, some will exclaim, but yeah, your saw and read right, its 10 months of staying at home doing different useful or useless things for our polytechnic friends, but its all over now.

This piece of good news was made public this morning by the National Publicity Secretary of the Union, Clement Chairman who added that all schools are expected to reopen by Tuesday next week for academic activities.

When love goes bad........should you commit suicide?

Found this rather touching news on vanguardng, and thought it wise to share it with you on the blog, most especially to the youths. I see no reason why one should kill his/her self because they were jilted by the supposed lovers, that is the height of stupidity and lack of common sense, because at the end, it is your immediate family and friends that will be mostly affected, find the full story below....

FRIENDS and family members of a 21-year-old student of Maritime Academy Oron, Effiong Otu are at a loss why he committed suicide by hanging himself on a rope in his room on Thursday morning after he was jilted by his girl friend.

Day 13- Lets take this week's summary together.

It is the end of another full cycle, #31days31epistles has evolved two great weeks and its going strong each day. I am so grateful to all the writers via this project, for their daily contributions, they have been our daily inspiration, i humbly take a bow in respect to your superb work. I also want to thank my ever supportive readers, fans, friends and colleagues who have supported me so far, i am also grateful to the critics, i know that the path to success is never rosy. Most importantly, i am grateful to God for his protection, guidance, wisdom and prowess in my life, he has been an inspiration to me and my daily living.

Look at where you are now, and take a quick look at where you were yesterday, i am positive that you will have a lot to be thankful for, you too can be amongst our daily voices, joining other writers to thank God for what he has done for you and your family, all it takes is a simple guideline and doing an email to me via ( nellydozzy@yahoo.co.uk), i am sure that your experience via the first six months of 2014 can be an inspiration to someone out there. Below are the epistles for this past week.................

Day 12- Ogbonna employs his entrepreneurial skills via the first 6 months.

Sometimes in life we all feel lonely, we get no calls from loved ones for days, our phones will be silent, not that you had set off the ring tone but because no one had called. You may try to kill the loneliness by being very active on social media, like facebook, twitter, 2go, BBM, Whatsapp and the rest, yet that loneliness still linger. Friends, that is when you need your BIBLE, its so prudently packed with words from God himself, no wonder I feel much better after perusing a message from Him.

It is another sabbath, and Ogbonna is up. He is a superb friend, calls me "popular", and base in Abuja, Nigeria. He is a great father and husband too, most importantly he is an Adventist and an Alumnus of Babcock University, let's give it up for Ogbonna.....

Day 11- Chika strikes, He thanks God for the gift of LIFE....

A colleague of mine made me to recall this old song I usually hear the women in my church sing, I just love the lyrics of the song. "Happily we share, happily we bare, one another's burden, that's why we are here". The song teaches me that my key purpose of existing on planet earth is to help someone, and that is what we do here on GTB, our #31days31epistle is majorly meant to help make the burdens of others way lighter, as our writers daily share words of encouragement, advises, lessons learnt and testimonies that can boost us back to life.

Today, we shall take a stroll to Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria, where we shall hear a young voice in an ancient city sharing his epistle with us all. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a Microbiologist in-view from the prestigious Babcock university, a single, imo state born superstar, Emeka-ben Chika...See his epistle below....

Word for the day....A humble Pencil

Each day brings a different challenge to us all, but words of encouragement are like the fuel needed to move on. On GTB, we try to get words from experienced persons  that can boost us like the turbo in a race car, propelling us further towards success..... Mr. Danladi throws another word of encouragement, like a bomb to destroy our lazy doubts and employ our buzy talents to proper use.......Enjoy this write up after the cut........

Day 10- Toyosi is so glad that God saw her through........

Its Thursday, Day Ten of #31days31epistles and we have got Toyosi sharing her epistle with us all. So its a "T" day (Thursday-Ten-Toyosi), and I am so glad this project is going smoothly despite all odds, so let's do a little "T" rhyme, "This Thursday Toyosi Took Time To Tell Truly Thrilling Thoughts Towards Toasting Thy gTbers afTer Taking hoT Tea", that's all for the "T" rhyme, you can add yours in the comment box .

Toyosi is not a stranger on gtb, she had joined in the #31days31reflections that was aired on NTB(nysctatafo.blogspot.com), so she needs little or no introduction.

When I told Toyosi about #31days31epistles, she was very delighted to join and share all she can with us all, do enjoy her epistle below.....

Day 9- Makinde testifies that 2014's first half has been good.

Sincerely I didn't want to post today's epistle, because of the shameful exit of Brazil in the ongoing world cup 2014 in Brazil by Germany, come to think that I was supporting Brazil self, Oh, Neymar and Silver were missed in that match, but that is it, the needful must be done. I just hope that Netherlands will do me proud.

Today, we shall be reading the epistle of the man who designed the #31days31epistle's logo, yeah, that simple but beautiful logo. Come to think of it, I told him less than 24 hours and he squeezed out time to do something worth praising. Adeolu, is a very ambitious young man, I still recall he ran for President of BUSA(Babcock University Student Association), he has rolled with great men, including Davido. Well, let me just purse here, because as I said the other time, I am in a poignant mood now. Enjoy his brief, yet concise epistle.

Life series.....A parable from Mr. Danladi E. Roberts

I found this very inspiring article online, a very amiable personality posted it as his status update on Facebook, I was so amazed with the lesson coated in the article that I just had no other option but to blog it. This article will shed more light on our on-going program, THE LIFE SERIES. I hope you will find it interesting too, see the write up after the cut............

Day 8- Mary says that the first 6 months has been God o....

"Just like the sun, light up the world, you light up my world", woke up this morning with that song ringing softly in my heart. yes, you guys are shedding light into the darkest part of someone's life out there, the truth remains that words of encouragement from those who have experience the same challenge with you, hits the spot faster. This vision brought to light #31days31epistles, where 31 great minds around the globe will share their progress stories via the first half of 2014, and their aspirations for the second half of the year.

On Day 8, we shall be reading the Epistle of Mary, an Edo babe, who is presently in Benue state, where she is doing her family and country proud. Mary is an exceptional girl, very talented, pretty, and most importantly a wife material, 100yards...lols. She also share the same alma mata with me, and I met her on Christmas day, at a close friend's party. We had this spontaneous connection, like our spirits agree "kpa kpa kpa", like kilode, before you could tear your pure water self, we had started dancing and exchanging complementary cards. Immediately I told Mary about #31days31epistles, she accepted the clarion call, and gbosa her epistle is being shared today. Do enjoy her epistle, and please be gentle with her o, she is my Angel o......Her epistle comes next, Enjoy it....

Hmmmmmmm…… past 6months, its bin God mehn…….i appreciate prince for giving me this opportunity been looking for an avenue like this to talk about how my life has been since the beginning of this year. Well I started the year with a New Year resolution*won’t mention them* lol*wink*.by his grace I think am beginning to achieve them. 2nd of Jan I left my lovely family, I left Lagos and headed to Benue state, makurdi to be precise to serve my father’s land, tho I wasn’t happy when I saw my call up bt I had to obey the clarion’s call*lol*. I had to stay in the catholic family house(NACC), it wasn’t easy tho but I learnt a lot there. I learnt how to pray and was spiritually strong because every moment of our life in the family house was prayer. I also learnt how to make some Igbo food like ofe-awku, oha soup, onegbu(bitterleaf) and I learnt how to manage people.

Day 7- Reward Davies says it’s been an awesome first six months of the year...

Life has a lot to teach us, no wonder each day comes with his own challenge. It’s Monday, and we are going to be hearing from my brother from another mother, a good cousin to me indeed. He is presently in the Niger-delta region of Nigeria, He is also a banker, and since today is Monday, technically, it is the busiest day of the week, (please don’t ask why o). I still recall memories of bankers rushing for work, hahahahaha, with them over ironed coat, oh sorry suit and expensive (bend down select ni o) shirts, kai, banker can package for Africa. Abeg, make I no yab them too much o, cos my money may suffer the consequences *laughs out loud*.

I had a good chance of working in that same bank, but I don’t know if I am a bank person, though I love that “better” money they are being paid for their salaries, I mean those ones that are members of staff, not those on contract jobs. Gosh, enough of the bank gist, it’s about Reward Davies today and I want to make it simple and sharp. Enjoy his epistle below……..

Mysterious- Son murdered his Dad and sliced the corpse into a box

This is indeed very mysterious, how on earth will a young man even think of slapping his dad, talk more of killing and slicing him. His he the only son?, Where was his mother?, Was he on drugs?, this and more are a few questions i would have personally love to ask this bastard of a boy,(please pardon me, i am just very angry now) as i read the news update on a very close friend's blog, kemifilani, Haba, what type of generation are we trending into, may God help us.

Tolani Ajayi: murdered his father on RCCG Camp

Short Story: The Knowledge

This piece has not been edited by the GTB team.

I am leaving London sans Royal Baby memorabilia. "Sans" is French for "without". I am unsure why I have just used it now but I have used it before and I will likely use it again.
The House of Windsor have not yet approved any Royal baby memorabilia so I could not get any Royal Baby George tea towels or stubby holders or mugs to bring back to Singapore with me.
I am disappointed.

I am also a tad disgruntled to be leaving London as it is one of the Great cities of the World. I quite like a lot of Englishness and London is full of it. It is only some of the English who annoy me and who I don't like.

Story- White Death....

It's another cool Sunday, and to end the good day, please enjoy this historic story, and take it as a way of me saying, "Good Night". I found the link and ever since, I have been enjoying their stories.....

In April of 1938, representatives from the USSR approached the Finnish government and expressed a concern that Nazi Germany could attempt to invade Russia, and such an attack might come through parts of Finland. The Finns replied that they were officially neutral, but any Nazi incursion on Finland's borders would be resisted. This did not mollify the Soviets. Hitler's manifesto, Mein Kampf, was published thirteen years previous with specific note that the Nazis would need to invade the Soviet Union. The Red Army was determined to "advance to meet the enemy" and refused to accept promises from the smaller country. As negotiations continued, the Soviets tried to coax Finland into leasing or ceding some area to serve as a buffer to Leningrad. In November 1939, however, all negotiations ceased, and on 30 November 1939 the Soviet Red Army invaded Finland.

Story.. The Supernatural Bunnymother of Surrey, Part 2

After St. André and Molyneux brought Mary's rabbits back to London, the King sent Cyriacus Ahlers, the surgeon from his German household, to Guildford for a second follow-up. When Ahlers was first admitted to Mary Toft's rooms, the patient had just given birth again, this time to a roll of rabbit pelt. But when Ahlers examined Toft he could find no sign of pregnancy. He did notice that as Toft walked about the room, she kept her knees close together, as if she were afraid something was going to fall out of her.

Soon Mary's labors began again. After three or four convulsions so violent Ahlers had to hold Toft's chair to the ground, Ahlers prodded Mary Toft's vagina and found "some broken bones" inside. A little further inside he felt "a fleshy body, which with the bones stood a little way out of the Orifice of the Vagina." In moments Howard took over and pulled the front part of another rabbit out of Mary. It was her sixteenth birth. Ahlers collected the parts and returned to London, where he received word that rabbit number seventeen had just been born. But Ahlers remained skeptical.

Story.... The Supernatural Bunnymother of Surrey..Part 1

Found this rather interesting story, and i thought it wise to share with you, i am sure you would love the story as i did too.. Enjoy..

The men from London arrived just in time to see Mary Toft give birth to her fifteenth rabbit.
It was the winter of 1726, and Nathaniel St. André and Samuel Molyneux arrived in the market town of Godalming in Surrey to meet Mary Toft, a short, stout peasant of "stupid and sullen temper" (per St. André's later, embittered description). They found the country-woman waiting at the house of local man-midwife John Howard. She was lingering on the edge of a bed, stripped down to her corset. Howard assured the Londoners that they had come just in time.
Soon Mary Toft's body began to twist and contort. Her throes could be so powerful that her clothes would fly off her body, and the woman would have to be held down in her chair. Sometimes the labors lasted up to a day and a half. Toft's belly would "leap," a phenomenon Howard thought was caused by baby rabbits jumping around inside Toft's uterus. One was observed to hop like this for eighteen hours.
But that winter day, the labor was not prolonged, and soon Toft had delivered her child--the skinned torso of a small rabbit. The men from London started dissecting it right there on the floor. St. André--surgeon anatomist to the King of England himself--took a section of lung and put it in a basin of water. It floated, showing that the lungs had air in them, which suggested that the creature had breathed before it died. The rabbit's anus was found to have feces in it, which meant that the small animal must have eaten something. There was no blood.

Day 6...What a week?

                                                   Displaying 31days&epistles.jpg
This past week has been very interesting, we had four (4) persons sharing there epistle via the #31days31epistles, i hope you have been able to tap into the superb testimonies of these ones.

Today we are going to do a quick summary of how the week went down, this is what we shall be doing at the end of each week. Quickly, less i forget, I had a White monster attack on my phone, this made me to be unable to access my phone for a while, thank God for the internet, i was able to solve the "App error 200" today, but at the detriment of most of my stored information, most especially the ones that has to do with epistles some persons had sent to me. So i quickly wanna request that each great mind who had shown interest and those still intending to do so, should please resend their write-up to my email (nellydozzy@yahoo.co.uk) or via BBM- 290E6271. You can also buzz me via twitter for more information @nellydozzy .
